single-crystal X-ray measurments at NITech

Prof. Daisuke Urushihara, Assistant Professor at the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan, has joined the Functional Ceramics Research Group of the Institute of Glass and Ceramics for a 6-month research visit as part of our International Research and Training Group (GRK 2495) Energy Conversion Systems: From Materials to Devices. He will be working on the electromechanical properties of single crystal Bi4Ti3O12, a layered aurivillius material with interesting ferroelectric properties.

Traveling from and to Japan has been very difficult since the pandemic has began in 2020 so we are especially happy about his visit.

You can find more infos from our partner institute on their website.
