Furthermore, Dr. Tobias Fey is currently the leading Guest Editor for the Special Issue on Porous Ceramics in Open Ceramics.

Porous ceramics have a wide range of technical and medical applications. They are used as high-temperature insulation materials, support structures, filters, adsorbers, sensors or bone graft substitutes. In this context, porous ceramics have pore sizes ranging from the nanometer to millimeter scale and can exhibit structured to random porosity or hierarchical porosity in combination or separately. The pore architecture is based on foams, fiber networks, honeycomb or bioinspired structures.

For this special issue, Open Ceramics welcomes novel contributions on recent developments in the field of the porous ceramics.
