Guest Lecture: Defects in Nitrides, Fundamentals of Texturing, and Optical Sintering
On 21 July, the IRTG 2495 had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Geoff Brennecka, Department Head and George S. Ansell Distinguished Chair in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, for a guest lecture entitled „Defects in Nitrides, Fundamentals of Texturing, and Optical Sintering„.
During his presentation, Prof. Brennecka provided great insights into the broad range of research activities conducted by his group in Colorado, spanning advanced ceramic processing, rapid sintering technologies, and functional nitride thin films.
The presentation stimulated lively discussions among the audience and offered an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on current challenges and emerging directions in functional materials research.
We sincerely thank Prof. Brennecka for sharing his expertise and for the inspiring discussions following his presentation. We were delighted to host him at the IRTG 2495 and look forward to future opportunities for scientific exchange.
