We are happy to announce the opening of our new family room!
A new family room at the Technical Faculty in Erlangen is now open and available to all FAU members.
From this winter semester 2021/22, the new family room at the Southern Campus of the Technical Faculty is available for our IGK 2495 members, as well as other scientists, employees and students from the FAU Technical Faculty.
The room (0.231 in MHB building) is equipped with a sofa, a diaper changing table, a small bed for kids, and a nice play area with a ‚Kidsbox‘. While the children are playing, two tables can be used by parents as a work space.
Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) promotes work-life-balance with family rooms and baby changes already at different places of the university (full list here). That makes it possible for mothers and fathers to spend time with their children at the university, adjourn and take care of them in cases of emergency.
Also the German Research Foundation (DFG) is actively committed to equal opportunity and the equality of women and men in the German research system. Thereby, our IGK 2495 was able to financially support the transformation of this new family room.
The room is open from Monday till Friday without registration. If you would like to have access to the room with your FAUcard, or if you have any other questions, please contact IGK 2495 Coordinator Ms. Julia Berger.
